The fate of Mad Men is ‘unknowable’

High-profile contract dispute could kill the show at the peak of its popularity

After Mad Men picked up another Golden Globe, the creator told press that he still doesn’t have a contract for the third season and the show’s fate is “unknowable.” This is the most high-profile contract battle between a TV producer and studio/network in living memory, and could wind up killing off the show just as it’s becoming successful, because the creator, Matt Weiner, is using his status (without him, there’s no show) to try and get more money out of the studio.
