"My shadow I see. Six more weeks of winter." These were the words of Wiarton Willie, dubbed "Canada’s best-known weather prognosticating groundhog" by The Canadian Press. On Tuesday morning, Groundhog Day, Wiarton, Ont. residents gathered to hear the prediction of their furry weatherman. Sadly, Willie saw his shadow. And that can only mean one thing: more cold weather ahead. Wiarton Willie has been predicting the weather since 1956. If you aren’t convinced of his expertise, consider that Nova Scotia’s Shubenacadie Samand Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil also saw their shadows today.
