New Brunswick farmers organize a farm farewell to a brave little boy

Jacob Vanderlaan, 9, was a New Brunswick farm boy who was crazy about tractors and had always wanted to visit the John Deere factory in Moline, Ill. But the Sussex resident who had an aggressive form of cancer, became too sick to travel. Last Friday, area farmers organized a parade of tractors through Jacob’s family farm. Seated in a window in the living room and attended by his parents, Jacob watched in delight as the neighbours paraded their farm machines. Fourteen hours later he succumbed to cancer.
