Tremblay re-elected
Montreal mayor wins third term despite corruption scandals
Gérald Tremblay’s third consecutive term as Montreal mayor will be "the challenge of my lifetime," he told supporters early Monday morning. The incumbent Tremblay was re-elected on Sunday with approximately 37 per cent of the vote following a six-week campaign that featured a bevy of corruption and ethics scandals. Tremblay beat out former PQ minister Louise Harel and left-wing upstart Richard Bergeron for the job of managing what has perhaps become Canada’s most unmanageable city.
