Videos of alleged war criminal surface

Conflicting views on the timing of footage that shows wanted army chief

Bosnian television has aired videos of former Bosnian Serb army chief and fugitive alleged war criminal Ratko Mladic that might have been filmed as recently as 2008. Mladic is wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia on charges of war crimes committed during the Bosnian War of 1992 to 1995. Serbia claims it has intensified its efforts to find Mladic, while a Serbian government minister said the videos were at least eight years old and were released to malign and pressure Serbia. Earlier this week, Mladic’s former bodyguard testified that Mladic moved freely around Serbia under army protection until at least March 2002, well after democratic forces ousted the Serbian dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
