What you need to know about the World Cup

As the world turns its gaze to South Africa, the National Post has released its list of the 31 must-know facts about the upcoming World Cup. Items on the list include an ode to the vuvuzela, “those big damn horns” that blare all over South Africa, which have experts warning participants about hearing loss. There have also been numerous threats to the game by extremists, such as the Afrikaner Resistance Movement and Al-Qaeda. And of course no World Cup list from Canada is complete without a mention of K’naan and the airtime he’ll receive for singing the official World Cup theme song, "Wavin’ Flag."
