Luxembourg’s Franck Schleck was one of the lead riders in the fifth stage of the Tour of Switzerland when he lost control going 60 km/h, jumped a guard rail, and flew off a cliff:
Not only did he survive. He got back on his bike and finished just three minutes behind the leader.
