When the Hell Will Start
Last week I received a review copy of Brendan Koerner’s book Now the Hell Will Start. It is about Herman Perry, a black soldier from Washington who killed a white officer and escaped into the Burmese jungle during World War II. I’ve only read 20 pages or so, but I’m hoping to get a chunk of it read in the next week or so. You’ve seen Brendan’s work on Slate and in Wired (even if you don’t know it: he wrote 200 or so of Slate’s wicked Explainer columns). Tomorrow he’s doing a live IRC chat on BoingBoing.
Here’s the book’s website.
Here’s a previous review on BB.
