Winnipeg police investigating deaths of two children, looking for their mother

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police homicide officers are investigating the deaths of two young children and say they are looking for their mother.

Police say a girl toddler and a baby boy were pronounced dead in hospital after being found at a home in the city in critical condition.

Const. Eric Hofley says police are combing the neighbourhood and nearby river for the children’s mother, 32-year-old Lisa Gibson.

He says police are concerned for her well-being and want to talk to her.

Hofley wouldn’t say how the children died, only that the incident is tragic.

Anyone with information about Gibson’s whereabouts is asked to call Winnipeg police.
