Over the last four days, the Conservatives have pledged to:

• Pull the plug on programs that provide aid and comfort to chablis-swilling elitists and filthy-tongued artists.
• Bring in legislation to lock up more bad seeds and troublesome youth.
• Slap ankle bracelets on federal ex-cons (and bonus points for tricking the Sun chain into thinking it had an exclusive on that last one.)

It’s like there’s going to be an election this fall or something.
