I don’t think anyone saw this one coming – earlier today, the Conservatives announced that Human Resources and Development Minister Monte Solberg won’t be running in the next election:

Conservative Party announces three Cabinet Ministers will not seek re-election

OTTAWA – Today, the Conservative Party of Canada announced that three current cabinet ministers will not be seeking re-election in the next Federal election. The Ministers are David Emerson – Minister of Foreign Affairs (Vancouver-Kingsway, British Columbia), Loyola Hearn – Minister of Fisheries and Oceans (St. John’s South-Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador) and Monte Solberg – Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development (Medicine Hat, Alberta).
