Shelly Glover and Christian Paradis won’t run again

Cabinet ministers make separate announcements about decisions not to run

OTTAWA — Two more of Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s cabinet ministers are not going to run again.

Christian Paradis and Shelly Glover have both made separate announcements that they will not seek re-election.

Paradis, the Minister for la Francophonie and International Development, said in a statement on his website that the decision was personal.

He said he will continue to serve as a Member of Parliament for Megantic/L’Erable until the next election.

Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Minister Shelly Glover has also announced her intention not to run.

In a statement she says she’ll be returning to her career as a police officer.

Earlier this year John Baird quit as foreign affairs minister and said he wasn’t running again.
