Nipissing University is located in North Bay, on a wooded escarpment overlooking the shores of Lake Nipissing. The campus boasts hiking and snowshoeing trails, cross-country skiing—even a waterfall. Nipissing offers a welcoming atmosphere, a student-to-faculty ratio of 23 to 1 and a host of opportunities for experiential learning. Undergrads also have the opportunity to participate in original research.

“Our small classes and tight-knit community provide exceptional opportunities for students to grow professionally and personally in a supportive environment,” says president Kevin Wamsley. “The natural landscape that surrounds our modern infrastructure offers an inspiring environment for learning both inside the classroom and outdoors through land-based education.”

The Harris Learning Library features spacious group-study rooms, while the athletic facilities have basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness centre and lab space for researchers in the physical health and education program. The NUSU Student Centre provides students with space to study and socialize. The multi-use facility features office space for the student union and a student quad with outdoor seating. Nipissing will formally launch the new Simulation Centre this April. The centre offers an immersive and interactive learning environment designed to replicate a variety of real-life situations, procedures and environments for students from a range of disciplines including nursing, social work and more.

Nipissing students have two new spots to gather, with On the Rocks, a campus nightclub, and Bay Bistro, a licensed restaurant, both in the NUSU Student Centre.
