About an hour outside of Vancouver, Stephane Dion and Janine Krieber rose from their front row seats and made their way towards the back of the plane, bearing cookies for the traveling press corps. After the treats had been delivered, the couple lingered for awhile.

Stephane Dion arrived a bit late. Though, in fairness, he was just trying to be polite—allowing the Prime Minister to finish up at Rideau before descending the staircase at the west end of Parliament’s centre block to address his own news conference.
Amid the praise for his decisiveness and leadership and decisive leadership, one of the Conservative supporters featured in that ubiquitous pre-campaign television ad remarks of Stephen Harper that “I like the idea that he’s a family man with young children.”
