election08: caption challenge #5 (special u.s. edition)

Seen here through the twin miracles of a) photography and b) her handlers letting her out of her cage for five minutes (they probably just needed to change the shavings) is Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin and, uhh... you know, what’s-his-nose – the dude who’s setting aside his entire Friday to save the U.S. economy with his mighty, mighty superpowers. Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a desperate strategic maneuver from a heretofore clueless and unduly optimistic man who wouldn’t know a Laffer curve from a laugh track!

Of more pressing concern to the American people: Ms. Palin appears to be wearing Michael Jackson’s outfit from the Thriller video. So much for compassionate conservatism.

Anyhoo, the challenge, as always: author a caption abundant in wit and possessed of trace elements of insight. The winner, as decided by a prestigious jury of me, shall receive via Canada Post something profoundly American: a baseball, or an apple pie, or possibly their weight in mortgage-backed securities.
