Tote-ally Canadian
This week, Donald Trump imposed tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports into the United States. In response, Maclean’s launched something every Canadian needs now: a made-in-Canada tote bag, available for just $25.

I love this bag: it was designed by Maclean’s creative director Christine Dewairy and manufactured a 20-minute drive from the magazine’s office. Margaret Atwood is also a fan. She tweeted about the bags the day they were launched, and minutes later they were sold out.
Many customers bought two or three totes. Lots of people joined the waitlist. I spent much of our launch day figuring out how to restock. Now we’re back in business, but the supply is still limited.
Maclean’s has told Canadian stories for over 120 years, and we have never felt such a strong sense of purpose. Our job is to help Canadians understand the country and its place in the world. As you can imagine, it’s been a busy few weeks. Proceeds from the bag will support the journalism we do every day at Maclean’s.
