Collège de l’Île
Collège de l’Île is the only French-language post-secondary school on Prince Edward Island, and its graduates are in high demand. French speakers are needed in the education and health-care sectors across the province, and bilingual nurses and resident care workers are particularly sought after. The school’s small size allows the college to offer students a personal approach.
The school’s campuses are situated in the island’s two biggest francophone communities, Wellington and Charlottetown. The Charlottetown campus is next to Holland College’s Prince of Wales campus. The schools’ students share the gym and cafeteria and can mix and match certain courses that are offered in both official languages.
The school also has strategic partnerships with other off-island community colleges: Collège de l’Île’s practical nursing program was developed with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick, and graduates receive diplomas from both institutions.
In addition to certificate and diploma programs, the school offers tutoring, an online French-as-a-second-language program and conversational French courses. Customized courses and workshops are available in French for businesses, community organizations and individuals.

Administrative Assistant: Offered in French-speaking and bilingual options, this one-year program prepares students to perform administrative tasks such as writing, basic accounting, presentations and office coordination. Graduates can support managers in a variety of sectors.
Early Childhood Educator: In this accelerated one-year diploma program, students learn to design and implement educational activities for young children. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, discussion, interactive projects and practice in the internship environment.
Care Attendant: This program prepares students to provide basic care to a variety of clientele as well as to support nursing and hospital staff.
