College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is one of the largest post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada, with 17 campuses in Newfoundland and Labrador. Residence space is available at the Bay St. George, Burin and Happy Valley–Goose Bay campuses.

Students can choose from more than 100 diploma, certificate, microcredential and continuing education programs and over 350 courses, many offered online. Areas of study include textile and apparel design, music, culinary arts, business and IT, engineering technology, industrial trades, health sciences and natural resources programming. 

CNA provides block training for apprentices, preparing them to write their Red Seal certification examinations. Applied research at CNA focuses on mining industry operations and processes, technology adoption for business optimization and advanced manufacturing technology.

In 2024, CNA founded its School of Sustainable Development, which works with academic and non-academic departments to promote sustainability among students and faculty through education programs, applied research and community engagement activities.

The college’s international development projects and education partnerships include initiatives in South America, southeast Asia and the Middle East. CNA has partnered with four institutions in China, where more than 430 students are enrolled in programs.
