Concordia University of Edmonton
The welcoming Concordia University of Edmonton campus is located in a residential area overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley, just minutes from Edmonton’s downtown. CUE offers more than 50 undergraduate majors, concentrations and minors; four master’s degrees; one doctorate; several after-degree programs; graduate and undergraduate certificates and diplomas and continuing education programs. In recent years, the school has added several dual-degree programs, including two international options and a doctor of psychology program. An “open studies” stream is available for those who don’t want to declare a major in their first year. The Allan Wachowich Centre for Science, Research and Innovation houses labs, scientific community spaces and an Indigenous knowledge and research centre, as well as the Centre for Innovation and Applied Research, which helps student entrepreneurs launch their own businesses. Construction is underway on a new academic building and student quad, which will house classrooms, labs, lecture theatres, offices and workshop spaces. “Through high-impact learning opportunities, tailored pathways, and meaningful, one-on-one mentorship, CUE aims to grow our student population, enhance our reputation and position ourselves as the university of choice in Alberta and beyond,” says president Tim Loreman. “I’m pleased to see our reputation growing as our successful alumni and students continue to be recognized nationally and internationally.”
