Located a few minutes north of downtown Calgary, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology has breathtaking views of the city and the Rocky Mountains. Students can opt to live in one of two modern high-rise residences at the northeastern corner of the main campus. The residences feature recreation and study spaces, on-site laundry, shared studio art space and around-the-clock security.

SAIT is a skills-intensive institute with close industry ties. The institute is made up of nine industry-focused schools, including the school of hospitality and tourism, the school of manufacturing and automation and the school of business. The school for advanced digital technology is a tech-driven training hub for digital learning. The school also offers four-year bachelor’s degrees. Some graduates receive their credentials via blockchain technology, which allows graduates to share their accomplishments with potential employers in a secure way. In 2024, SAIT announced an expansion and renovation of its Taylor Family Campus Centre. Slated to open in late 2027, the project includes the construction of facilities dedicated to promoting health and supporting student learning, community and wellness on campus.
