St. Lawrence College
Students at St. Lawrence College (SLC) enjoy the convenience of small-city living at the school’s three campuses in Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall, while being just a few hours’ drive from bigger cities such as Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. SLC offers more than 55 full-time programs, including certificates, diplomas, apprenticeships, graduate certificates and degree programs, in areas that include autism and behavioural science, mental wellness and addictions, and tourism. Starting in 2025, SLC’s personal support worker program will be delivered at the Maple View Lodge in Athens, Ontario, using a living classroom model, with students learning on site and by practice.
The college offers its learners many ways to get involved on campus. In addition to joining student government, clubs and athletic teams, they have the opportunity to expand their learning and gain real-world experience through Enactus SLC, a group that tackles community issues through entrepreneurial action. Students also operate Spark, a creative production house that puts together high-quality marketing plans and promotional videos for paying clients.
The Student Life and Innovation Centre on the Kingston campus provides students with space for studying and socializing while offering services geared to their health and wellness. Other amenities include fitness facilities, a double gym, private study rooms, a licensed pub, an Indigenous centre and dedicated, state-of-the-art learning spaces for the music and digital media program. In December of 2024, the campus opened a new speciality nursing lab, which provides nursing students access to advanced technology and immersive sensory learning tools.
