More youth find work

But unemployment rate remains steady at 7.6%

The Canadian employment rate rose 2.2 per cent for the month of December, according to Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey. While employment levels increased for workers 55 and over rose 6.6 per cent, and the 25-54 group saw their numbers rise 1.2 per cent, Canadian youth, aged 15-24, also saw their numbers rise by 1.8 per cent. The unemployment rate held steady from Nov at 7.6 per cent.
