A month or so after steadfastly denying it to a reporter at the Citizen, Tony Burman is off to al-Jazeera English as managing editor.

The station can’t get on any cable outlets in North America, so the DC headquarters has ended up serving as a bureau delivering stories mainly for consumption in the middle east. Consequently, al-Jazeera English lost a lot of its senior US talent, who were somewhat disillusioned. It’s a good opportunity for Burman.
