Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber was the big winner at the American Music Awards Sunday night, picking up awards for artist of the year, favorite pop/rock artist and favorite pop/rock album.

Another Canadian who won big Sunday was Carly Rae Jepsen, who won new artist of the year, after she was discovered and signed by Bieber.

Bieber brought his mom, Pattie Mallette, along as his date, leaving behind recent ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The win comes as Bieber is in the midst of a North America tour to promote his new album, Believe. He will also perform at the Grey Cup in Toronto on Sunday.

While Bieber won big, the performance fans are talking about Monday is a bizarre duet from Korean pop star Psy and ’90s rapper MC Hammer, who did a mashup of Psy’s "Gangnam Style" and Hammer’s "Too Legit to Quit," complete with Hammer pants and the running man.
