Minnesota Congresswoman and Tea Party favourite Michele Bachmann won’t run for another term, she announced in a video posted online Wednesday.

Bachmann didn’t state a specific reason for her decision, aside from saying that eight years in office was long enough for a president and it was also long enough for her.

"In my opinion, eight years is also long enough for an individual to serve as a representative for a specific congressional district," she says.

Bachmann also made a failed presidential run in 2012. That campaign is now the subject of an investigation into illegal campaign financing.
