<p>Canada <a href="http://www.mipex.eu/countries" target="_blank">ranks</a> third, after Sweden and Portugal, out of 31 countries in Europe and North America for how well it grants equal opportunities to immigrants. By another count, 30 per cent of the country’s wealthiest families (those with investable assets of $1 million or more) are new Canadians, or individuals born elsewhere. And Canada is one of the few countries where immigrant school children perform just as well as Canadian-born students. </p>
