From Dimitri Soudas :

PM will be on shortly
Fox Business Network  host is Neil Cavuto. Live shortly and it will air later in the 6PM EST hour.

Canada’s so back.

Well, that, or Mike McCurry and/or Ari Fleischer have been working the phones, and finally found a chase producer with some dead air to fill. (Did we hire those two on retainer, or do we get charged per American news hit?) Unfortunately, ITQ doesn’t seem to get the Fox Business Network, unless that’s just another name for Fox News. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

UPDATE: Good news! Currently airing on Fox: “Your World”, hosted by – yes – Neil Cavuto. ITQ is now tuned in, and eagerly awaiting the PM’s appearance.

FOXNEWSWATCH:

4:13 p.m.

Hmm. So far, the host hasn’t mentioned anything about an interview with the Canadian prime minister. You’d think he’d at least merit a chyron.

Right now, Cavuto is griping at Austan Goolsbee over – o, irony – the fact that President Obama won’t come on his show. Wow, he’s pretty cranky about it. I hope he cheers up before his Harper interview.

4:33 p.m.

Okay, I’m starting to think this may have been a cruel prank by those mischiefmongers at PMO – or an experiment to see how long some of us will obediently watch Fox News in hopes of catching a glimpse of the prime minister before giving up. As yet, there’s still been no indication from the host — or the crawl, or the chyrons — that the PM will be up soon, and from what I can see, the topic has shifted from the GM bailout to that missing Air France plane.  Man, I can’t believe I fell for that. I’ll keep watching for a few more minutes, though. Just in case.

4:42 p.m.

Hey, remember Bill Kurtis from A&E’s many, many true crime police procedurals? Turns out he’s doing commercials for AT&T now. And no, still no sign of the prime minister, and I think prolonged exposure to Fox News is starting to erode my will to live. I’ll keep going til 5pm, but at that point, I’m probably going to bail and hit Newsworld for my Don Newman fix. (Only a few more shows left until — no, no, I can’t even say the words.)

5:02 p.m.

That’s it for Neil Cavuto, who has just been replaced on screen by Glenn Beck, which means that ITQ is out. If the PM shows up later, someone ping me.

UPDATE: According to A Senior PMO Official, a wayward satellite scotched the interview. Hey, is “scotched” an ethnic slur? I bet if it is, I’m going to hear about it — and I’ll totally apologize too, if warranted. (Google assures me it’s safe, but you just never know, do you?)
