Lauren Bacall, 89, actress
Lauren Bacall, born Betty Joan Perske, made her onscreen debut in 1944 in To Have and Have Not opposite her future husband Humphrey Bogart. A single, sultry line (“Anybody got a match?”) won the hearts of moviegoers, and Bacall’s old-Hollywood glamour and husky voice starred alongside the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Gregory Peck in dozens of films from 1940s to the 1960s. Bogart died in 1957, leaving her widowed with two children, but she continued to work in films, television and voice cartoons until her death in August 2014, just five months after her final voice role as an elderly seductress in Family Guy.
