Ken Griffey Jr. To Retire, Possibly Due To Gigantism
Ken Griffey Jr. is announcing his retirement today.
The subject heading is of course a reference to his appearance in the classic Simpsons episode "Homer At the Bat." In fact, among the nine players in that episode, he was the last one active.
Here are his audio outtakes from that episode, where he had to say the line "it’s like there’s a party in my mouth and everyone’s invited." As he says himself, "it doesn’t sound like something I would say."
