The grounds crew
Last night and this morning, I walked from my place to McMaster University. It is normally a 20 minute walk in the summer, it presently takes at least 30 minutes. Last night, I travelled to campus in the middle of a snowstorm. Getting there was very tough, nothing was clear, and walking on the road was not much better than the sidewalk. Once I hit the university, however, everything changed. Despite being the peak of the storm, campus sidewalks were clear. This morning, same thing - the city is a mess, the campus is not.
It’s the same thing every snowstorm.
I don’t think we (students) actually think about all the staff involved in keeping our campuses running.
