The Globe tries to confirm the existence of an announced upgrade to a water treatment plant in Grand Falls-Windsor. 

Mayor Rex Barnes said the town has a number of sewer and water projects under way but he was not aware of the work showcased on the federal map. Weather in central Newfoundland shortens the construction season, he added, warning that it would be hard to add a new project this year. "If you want the work done in summer you have to have [the] out in January," he said.
