Paris antes up

François Delattre, the French ambassador to Canada, met with a Maclean’s reporter and several other journalists Monday afternoon to discuss the upcoming NATO summit and France’s role in the alliance. He said France will increase its civilian commitment to the country, and he reiterated a French proposal, first made earlier this month, to deploy European Union gendarmes to Afghanistan to train security forces there.
