The new summer suspense movie trend...

... is environmental anxiety. Actually we’re one movie short of a trend, but here’s the two examples I have so far:

I interviewed a pollster this morning who said the environment is emerging as a security issue: respondents don’t want it addressed as an altruistic and beautiful thing, but because they are very worried about what might happen to them, personally, if the environment goes sideways. These fears are coming soon to a theatre near you.
