DeGroote School of Business MBA
The DeGroote School of Business provides its MBA students with a program that is the perfect blend of business-skill-building and professional networking. The full-time, 20-month program begins its first year with an 8:30-to-4:30, Monday-to-Thursday in-class schedule, while Fridays and some weekends are reserved for group activities and events.
The school also offers a “blended learning” part-time MBA for those looking to advance their career or change industries altogether. The part-time program is comprised of a combination of in-class and online learning, ideal for those with busy schedules. Students will get a chance to know their peers through three weekend residencies at the Hamilton campus.
Coursework focuses on leadership and collaboration, project management and technical skills for business. An internal case competition is held in the final week of the first semester, which challenges students to synthesize the coursework they have learned over the term and offers a chance to apply their new knowledge to a professional situation.
At the end of the program, students participate in a graduation ring ceremony, during which they are presented with rings that mark them as members of the DeGroote MBA community.
This year, Katya Malinova—an emerging academic leader researching blockchain and fintech—was appointed Mackenzie Investments Chair in Evidence-Based Investment Management.
