Tuesday, Northwest Territories voters will elect the members of their legislative assembly. But this election is unlike provincial elections, where the leader of the party with the most seats typically forms government and is sworn in as premier. The territorial election only elects individual non-partisan members. At their first sitting, they’ll select a premier from among their ranks, as dictated by the territory’s consensus government system
Polls close at 8 p.m. MT. Results should start rolling in soon after.
