What happened and why

The Canadian Election Study’s survey results for the last federal campaign are online now and can be found here. The data includes an election period survey and a post-election survey and there’s enough there to consume your weekend. Over the next few days, I’ll try to post a few results of potential interest.

To start, some numbers on the federal leaders.

Percentage of respondents who knew the name of the Conservative leader: 75.9%Percentage of respondents who knew the name of the Liberal leader: 70.1%Percentage of respondents who knew the name of the NDP leader: 69.7%
