There is no shortage of places to stay in Toronto and Vancouver during the World Cup. Airbnb is even paying Torontonians a bonus to rent out their homes to soccer-mad fans. But for those looking for the fanciest of accommodations, the new Nobu Hotel in Toronto offers excellent bang for your considerable buck (prices start at $1,500 per night).

The hotel, which opened last summer in downtown Toronto, is built around the Japanese concept of shiawase, or “long-lasting happiness.” This means the entire place is spritzed with Nobu’s iconic yuzu-ginger fragrance and each visit begins with a welcome Japanese tea; wellness maniacs can even access a mini-bar filled with sea-algae eye masks and marine-collagen supplements. The Nobu Villa is reserved for high rollers of the highest order: at 2,350 square feet, the penthouse suite is bigger than most starter homes and outfitted with a grand piano, walk-in closet and wraparound lakefront views.

The entire experience oozes opulence—so much so that guests might prefer to stay in rather than brave the rowdy street festivals and sports bars. And for that, there’s some truly great room service: full access to chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s famous—and beloved by the famous—sushi restaurant, with a menu that might include caviar-topped nigiri, pan-fried scallops with shaved black truffle and snow crab crowned with glimmers of gold leaf.
